I'm Abseiling to help save lives in London
“Having served as a helicopter pilot in the Army Air Corps during a 20-year career in the Army, I am not a stranger to abseiling - but usually encouraging others to do the jumping whilst promising to hold the aircraft steady in the hover over a clearing in the jungle! For the last few years and with the encouragement of two active sons, our family holidays have routinely involved an adrenaline fuelled activity of one sort or another which we all love and there is something very rewarding in setting physical challenges, which also benefit others. In this case, the amazing work that the London Air Ambulance teams undertake every day of the year for those who need them most. Please join me in supporting this great cause and these amazing people.”
Mike Whelan is closely associated with the Tallow Chandlers as the consort besides his wife Helen. Consort Mike Whelan is joined in the abseil by his wife Master Helen Whelan- the 1st female Master of the Tallow Chandlers, Clerk Nell Doherty and Freeman Madhav Shankar completing the Tallow Chandler’s team supporting this event.
London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
Please donate generously to this worthy cause.

It’s for a great cause - Goodluck Mike !
