I'm abseiling to help save lives in London
“I have always loved adventure and challenges and if I can combine them with raising funds for a truly invaluable service then even better. I have never done a free-hanging abseil and certainly not from 17 floors up which mildly terrifies me, but I am looking forward to the view from the top! I completed my first bungy jump when I was 18 and over the years have been lucky enough to complete all manner of different sporting and adrenaline fuelled activities. Being a mum of two (now teenage) boys has also meant that family holidays have rarely involved sitting down!”
London Air Ambulance relies on charitable fundraising for 95% of its income and I hope that by taking part in this totally unique challenge will help raise invaluable funds. Any pennies you can spare would be very gratefully received.
Helen Whelan is the 1st ever female Master at the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers leading by example from the front. Master Helen Whelan is joined by her husband Consort Mike Whelan along with Clerk Nell Doherty and Freeman Madhav Shankar, completing the Tallow Chandler’s team supporting this event.
London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
Please donate generously to this worthy cause.
