Own Place Challenge

About the event

Do you have a place in an organized event as a runner, swimmer, cyclist or walker?  Whatever challenge you have chosen, we would love to have you join our team of lifesavers!

It is always an inspiring and humbling experience to see the fantastic ways in which our supporters go above and beyond to make sure London’s Air Ambulance Charity can continue to be there when we are needed the most.

When London calls every second counts for our teams and our patients. We know that getting to a critically injured patient as quickly as possible is vital to give them the best chance of survival.  For 32 years we have been there, flying all across London to provide life-saving care at the scene.

Fundraiser's Story

On the 10th September 2016 my brother Russell was attacked. The London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene and stabilised him, allowing him to be transferred to The Royal London Hospital where surgeons battled to save him for 11 hours before he tragically succumbed to his injuries. He was just 26.

I wanted to do things that challenged and excited me, so I chose to do a skydive in 2018, raising just over £2,000, which was amazing. I then took part in the Spartan 5k before deciding to do a wing-walk in 2020.

My advice to anyone thinking of fundraising for London’s Air Ambulance Charity is just ‘do it’! Do something you enjoy or excites you or challenges you – and do it for a charity that is there for all of us when we need them the most.
