London's Air Ambulance Helipad Abseil 2026

I'm Abseiling to help save lives in London

"I'm a wimp when it comes to heights, yet I've decided to descend 17 floors inspired by my wife and daughters who sky-dived from 12000 feet! I am an avid cyclist, and I have witnessed first-hand the incredible work of the London Air Ambulance – in saving a life after a cycling accident. Please support me to help the LAAC continue their cutting-edge work and make a donation to help save lives across London."

Madhav Shankar works at Standard Chartered Bank in the City of London and became a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers in 2025. A banker by profession and a cricketer by passion, he spends many weekends representing Wimbledon Cricket Club and is always happiest on the cricket field, rather than hanging from the side of a building!

Madhav is joined by Helen Whelan, the Company's first ever female Master, Company Clerk Nel Doherty and First Consort Mike Whelan as the Tallow Chandlers take on this exciting fundraising challenge.

London's Air Ambulance Charity delivers an advanced trauma team to London's most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready whenever they are needed. Every minute counts after major trauma, and your generosity helps give patients the very best chance of survival and recovery.

Please donate generously to this wonderful cause.
