Santa in the City 2025

WE SMASHED IT

It was fantastic. We sang carols and Christmas tunes along the way. We stormed home together. We smashed our first target but there’s always room for more! A huge vote of thanks to all of you who have contributed it is so generous of you and allows this vital service to continue. Blessings small and large for this holiday season xxx

Grandma Vera

London Air Ambulance and the National Neurological Hospital have played roles in my life at different times.
In the 70s as a small child, I was taken to see my grandma in a big building by a garden square. Sitting in bed with a cap on like the grandma in Red Riding Hood; I wasn’t really old enough to understand fully, but she had been diagnosed with a meningioma and had been operated on at the National with pioneering surgery. My mum had carefully arranged the cap to cover her shaved head.
Grandma Vera came home to live with us the last year of her life. She slowly lost each faculty, one at a time. She told a story about how, coming out of the National one day for a push around the square in her wheelchair, she was ecstatic to meet cellist Jacqueline du Pré, coming the other way also being pushed in her chair.
Although ultimately she lost her life, aged just 67, I have always remembered the care she was given at the National, and I am delighted that Santa Run is supporting both LAA and the National this year, as some of the members of our team have had their lives saved by both organisations.

I'm walking with my besties to help save lives in London

London’s Air Ambulance is one of the essential emergency services in our city but did you know it is a charity and continues solely on donations? When you look up and see the red helicopter flashing through the sky, landing in a park or at the side of the motorway, that critical care is because of people like you and me chipping in.

Their advanced trauma team delivers crucial lifesaving care to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

Our team is walking in solidarity with our friend Rebecca as she navigates her own journey, after many moments of lifesaving care. My target is £500 and collectively we are aiming to hit £1200.

We will be walking with a few hundred other Santas in the City for London's Air Ambulance Charity. We’d love to bust through our target so please give what you can to this essential work and let’s help save lives in London. You’re allowed to come by and laugh and point, as long as you cough up!!! 😂🥰 THANK YOU SO MUCH xx
