Abseiling to help save lives with London’s Air Ambulance
On Wednesday 4th and Friday 6th September, together with three other members of RSA’s UK Legal & CoSec Team, I will be abseiling off the London Air Ambulance helipad (on the 17th floor of the Royal London Hospital, it’s Europe's highest helipad!) to raise money to support the London Air Ambulance, an organisation entirely supported through charitable activities and donations.
Two members of the UK Legal & CoSec Team have recent personal experiences of loved ones receiving the incredible immediate response and urgent care services of the London Air Ambulance. In both cases, sadly those individuals passed away due to the severity of their injuries, but the emergency care that they received from the London Air Ambulance made a huge difference and created hope.
And this is why four of us have decided to fearlessly fundraise by undertaking this challenge, declaring ourselves the “RSA Abseiling Angels”. Given it’s 17 floors up and there is a “free hang” aspect (no body contact with the wall!!), the abseil is going to be exhilarating (and panic-inducing of course!!) but will be worth it (apparently) for the East London skyline from a whole new angle.
We would really appreciate any donation you are able to make towards our fundraising target . All money raised will help the London Air Ambulance to continue their vital lifesaving work across London.
Thank you!
Enjoy the experience, you're braver than we are!
