London's Air Ambulance Helipad Abseil 2020

New date

So its been confirm after last years cancellation due to Covid, my new abseil date is 18th September 2021.

Abseil postponed until further notice

I just wanted to give everyone an update that has donated to my fundraiser that I have unfortunately received an email from London air ambulance saying the following....

Hi Stephanie,

It is with great disappointment that we have had to postpone the London’s Air Ambulance Charity Abseil.

Given the rising numbers of Covid19 across the country, as reported in the news over the last couple of days, Barts Health NHS Trust has taken the difficult decision to advise us that the event needs to be deferred.

The safety of hospital patients and staff, and everyone who takes part in the event, remains our absolute priority and we continue to work closely with our partners at the Royal London Hospital to work through the next steps.

We’ve had to stop many of our fundraising activities this year and the impact on our usual activities will be felt for some time to come. We are extremely grateful to our abseil participants, volunteers, NHS partners and stakeholders for their support and hope to be able to confirm a new date for the abseil when it is safe to do so.

Confirm abseil

So the 12th September is nearing and it’s confirmed my abseil time to descend down the royal free hospital east London is at 15:30.... wobbly knees time is closing in... 🙈🙈🙈

Why I’m doing the abseil

I am putting my fear of heights to the test and heading for Europe’s tallest Helipad at London’s Royal Free Hospital and abseil down the side to help raise money for London Air Ambulance. I have a terrible fear of heights of anything more than 5/6 floors up. But I want to use this experience not to just to try and overcome my own fear but to raise much needed funds and this is why.........
London’s Air Ambulance, along with the rest of the Air Ambulances across the country, rely solely on charity funding to keep them in the skies attending trauma’s, RTC’s, stabbings and shootings, falls from height and incidents on the rail network saving people’s lives 365 days a year. On average they attend 5 patients every day with a team who could potentially carry out life saving treatment on scene. They are NOT part of any NHS Ambulance trust and without the generosity of people they would not exist. Please support me in my fundraising to reach my target of £300.00. Abseil date Saturday 12th September 2020.

I'm fundraising for...

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
