We’re jumping off a rooftop — for a life-saving cause!
Me and my teammate Alex are both researchers at Blizard Institute Queen Mary University of London, where we’re at the forefront of investigating causes of nerve pain and neuronal dysfunction after traumatic brain injury (TBI).
When someone suffers a life-threatening injury like a TBI, every second counts! Which is why, on September 12, we’ll be abseiling 17 floors down from the highest rooftop helipad in Europe at The Royal London Hospital — the very home of London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
London’s Air Ambulance brings the emergency room to the scene, delivering advanced trauma care by helicopter or rapid response car wherever and whenever it's needed the most. They serve 10 million people that live, work and travel across London, treating 2000 patients a year or an average of 5 a day. Their team races against the clock to save lives every single day, often in the most critical moments after serious injury.
