RIDE TEN and That's That!

WOOHOO Mileage complete!!!

I have to admit that it was a bit disappointing to hit my target miles today. I've spent all month thinking about doing it and today the milometer rolled over and there was no fanfare or fireworks.

RIDE NINE - The Weather Continues...

I really didn't want to do any miles today as I got home from work in East Lancashire after 21:00 last night and felt a bit drained BUT the sun forced me out onto the saddle. As a result I've completed seven really hard miles in the local marshes that were lush and green two weeks ago but are now under the control of Autumn.

Ride EIGHT - I Cannot Believe How Lucky I've Been....

With the weather. Couldn't go out yesterday due to the torrential rain and thunder storms but today had a lovely bright although slightly chilly ride out. Getting close now!!

Torrential Downpours and Flash Floods!

I've had to postpone todays r8ide due to the crazy downpours happening across Kent as I type, well at least it'll clean the windows :)

Ride SEVEN - Not too Badd

Lunch hour ride today so no time to mess about and a pretty straight forward route. Another 10 miles knocked off the total.

Ride SIX - More Bleedin' Hills!

Oh well, it's good for me apparently!

Ride FIVE - Forget Mondays, I Don't Like HILLS!

I thought I would do something more urban today, so I went off to where they are converting old chalk mines into the Ebbsfleet Garden City. I wish I had some common sense that could step in and tell me to just find a flat place to ride. Anyway, one funny thing I got a wolf whistle from a group of young ladies, obviously I sped off so they couldn't see me up close and take it back.

OH YES and I have an official jersey now, woohoo

This is not Helpful!

So I'm working away for the next couple of days meaning that I am stuck not being able to get over the mileage halfway mark. I've got this foreboding feeling that when I get back it's going to be freezing rain and I'm going to hate every minute of the remaining SIXTY TWO miles that I've still got to cycle.

Ride FOUR and Why You Should Go Home Early

So lucky that the weather still hasn't turned!

Unfortunately that encouraged me to stay out late last night and made today's ride hard! I was hoping to get over the half way mark today but no chance as I ran out of steam, hopefully do that tomorrow. Good quality ride though.

Ride THREE and Lessons to Learn

I love riding on the marshes but today I've realised it's not a good thing to do when you're trying to complete miles for sponsorship. It seems the reason it is so much fun is because you don't eat up the miles like you do on country roads and trails. Only 6 miles completed when I thought it would be closer to 10. Boo!! But still loved it, back to work.

Ride TWO! Blimey How Old Am I?

For some reason my brain decided to ignore the evidence of my body and thought it would be a good idea to squeeze in a cheeky 10 miler during lunch today. I won't be doing that again!!

To be honest I do feel good for having done it and it's got me quickly past the quarter way mark, which has been worrying me as I'm going to be working away a bit this month.

Ride ONE! Completed!!

So today was my first ride and how lucky was I? October decided to at least let me have one lovely one.

Twenty miles lopped off the target but wow how tired am I now. Very very tired is the answer! I will see if my legs will let me do some more tomorrow as I'm working from home.

Starting to Panic

So just a couple of days to go til I start and only a few sponsors and the weather has turned rubbish so no topping up me tan while I gently cycle about as per my thinking when I signed up.

IDIOT!!!

No more drunk surfing Michael.

Whilst surfing late at night (on the train home) I thought it would be cool to raise some money for the Air Ambulance, so here I am having committed to cycling 116 miles during the course of October to do so.

I'm saddling up to save lives in London!

I’m saddling up to show my support for London’s Air Ambulance Charity by taking up the mission to ride the equivalent length of the London border. Miles for Missions is a challenge to complete 116 miles between 01 - 31 October, to help raise vital funds for this lifesaving service.

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
