London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026

World Record Attempt

My good friend John is a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service.

When he told me he was going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest half marathon dressed as a three dimensional aircraft in support of London's Air Ambulance, I knew he'd need all the help he could get.

The current record is 1 hr 51 min 2 sec and was achieved by Gary MacAlister, in Bristol, UK, on 11 May 2025.

Less than a year later, John is hoping to shatter that record with a sub 1 hr 45 min finish time. And I'll be aiming to run every step of the way alongside him in support (although I will most definitely NOT be dressed as a helicopter).

If you'd like to join in the fun and support a great cause, please feel free to donate. Any funds raised, no matter how big or small, will go towards supporting the important work the charity does, delivering advanced trauma teams to London’s most seriously injured patients.

Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most.

By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

Please give what you can to help save lives in London.

I have decided to personally fund the target donation so that any additional contributions go directly to the great work performed by the London Air Ambulance charity. Thank you all for your support!
