London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Crews work under extreme pressure in situations where every second counts. 

By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, the charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

Personally, I’ll never be able to thank them enough. The difference that this inspirational service has made to my life since it was saved as a 12-year old boy, is absolutely indescribable.

The charity is pioneering, courageous and truly world-class. Tirelessly serving London 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Helicopter by day and rapid response car by night.

Like other air ambulance units around the country, the London Air Ambulance is a charity that relies on public donations. Every year the charity raises vital funds through collections for National Air Ambulance Week during September.

Much of this money is traditionally raised by a small army of humble volunteers who dedicate their time, energy and support outdoors in public; raising cash to keep the helicopter flying and the car on the road, alas not this year. 2020 has for all of us, seen to it that our lives, plans and ambitions have had to change, at least for now… 

This online ‘virtual bucket collection’ initiative to support the charity and the volunteers, offers an excellent way to help meet this shortfall. It’s a great way for anyone to appeal to friends and family for contributions to such a worthy cause that I’m so passionate about. 

Any donation you give, no matter how big or small, will help to make a big difference to the lives of so many.
