300 for Josh

In memory of my best friend Josh, the three of us – Jack, Dandy and Jacob – are taking on a challenge that will push us to our limits while raising vital funds for London's Air Ambulance.
From 14th–19th August 2027, we'll be completing 300 for Josh: a 300-mile journey from Lancaster Golf Club to Panmure Golf Club in Scotland.
Each day we'll cycle approximately 50 miles before taking on another challenge – walking and playing a full round of golf.
*Six days. Six rounds. Three hundred miles.*
None of us are seasoned cyclists, which is exactly why we've started training now. Over the next year, we'll be sharing every early morning ride, every sore leg, every setback and every milestone as we prepare for what promises to be an unforgettable challenge.
We're doing this to honour Josh's memory and to support London's Air Ambulance, whose crews deliver life-saving care when every second counts.
If you'd like to support us, no matter how big or small the donation, we'd be incredibly grateful.

Please like, share and follow our journey as we count down to August 2027. Every share helps us reach more people and raise more money for an incredible cause.
A little help

JB: Getting lost!

JD: Putting in the work

JH: First Big Ride on the roads

The final bike is here!

Another major milestone for the "300 for Josh" challenge – the final bike is here!
Dandy has now got his ride sorted after making the most of the Cycle to Work scheme, choosing a stunning Cube Attain SLX to take on the journey north.
With all three bikes now ready to roll, the planning is over and the real work begins. It's time for all three of us to get out on the roads, build our fitness and start putting some serious miles in the legs.
Important Milestone Number 2 – Jacob Has His Bike!

Another big step forward for the "300 for Josh" challenge – Jacob is now officially on two wheels!
After a bit of searching, we found a fantastic Calibre Lost Lad gravel bike on Facebook Marketplace. Not only did we manage to pick up a great bike for the challenge, but the seller also kindly donated £15 towards our fundraising efforts, taking it off the price of the bike.
Just Dandy left to get his bike. Long road ahead – but we're excited to get started.
First Ride

Today marked another important step in the "300 for Josh" challenge – my first ride on the new bike.
I decided there was only one way to start: cycle to work! The journey was 18km there and just over 20km on the way home, giving me nearly 40km in the saddle for the day.
If I'm honest, this first ride was a real eye-opener. It quickly showed me just how tough the challenge we've signed up for is going to be. Riding hundreds of miles over multiple days is going to require a huge amount of hard work, commitment and preparation.
JB's Bike!

A big milestone in the "300 for Josh" challenge has been reached – I've bought my bike!
She's a beauty: a fantastic Ribble road bike that will hopefully carry me all the way from England to Scotland as we take on this incredible challenge in memory of Josh.
I spent a lovely afternoon at Bowland Cycles in Clitheroe, where I was able to browse an excellent selection of both new and second-hand bikes. The team were incredibly helpful, and after plenty of deliberation, I found the perfect bike for the journey ahead.
There’s still a long way to go with training and preparation, but having the bike now makes everything feel that little bit more real. Every mile from this point onwards is another step towards the challenge and another opportunity to raise awareness and funds for London's Air Ambulance.
Now it's time to get some miles in the legs and start preparing for the road to Scotland!
Training has started

300 for Josh
Over the course of six days we will be cycling 288 miles, around 50 miles a day, followed by walking and playing 18 holes of golf. Starting at Lancaster Golf Course, we will cycle through the Lake District, up through the Scottish Borders, through Edinburgh, up to Kingsbarns and reach our final destination at Panmure Golf Course.
