Welcome to Create-a-Copter, our fun and inclusive school activity to support London’s Air Ambulance Charity, helping to ensure that we can keep flying for the 10million people who live, work and travel across London every day.
Create-a-Copter offers your pupils the chance to let their imaginations fly as they design and create their own unique helicopters.
Whether your pupils build their helicopter out of recycled materials or papier-mâché, sew a copter costume, paint a picture, or even bake a helicopter shaped cake, their creativity can soar!

How to raise vital funds for your air ambulance service
There are lots of ways you and your pupils can fundraise for London’s Air Ambulance Charity while creating their amazing helicopters, including:
- Host an exhibition and invite families to attend (a great way to welcome families back into your school after the 18 months we have just experienced)
- Encourage donations with each copter entry

FAQ's
Is there a minimum fundraising target to take part?
No, there is no minimum target. Your school can set its own target based on what you feel is reasonable. If you meet that target you can always change it and aim to raise more. It is entirely up to you!
Are there restrictions on how we create our copters?
No, you and your pupils are only restricted by your imagination! You can create your copter from anything you want, from clay to felt to pasta shapes! Aspiring artists could model or paint a copter, while budding bakers could cook up a copter cake creation!
How can we pay in our donations?
When you register you will automatically create a safe and secure online fundraising page. You can share this with parents and carers, who in turn can also share with other people who may want to support your amazing efforts. If you would prefer to collect cash donations then you can safely and easily pay these through your fundraising page as well.
Why do we need to fundraise for London’s Air Ambulance Charity?
Not everyone knows that we are a charity that relies almost entirely on the support of the people who live, work and travel through London.
It costs around £9m a year for us to provide our life-saving service. Over the past 32 years, schools have played a vital role in helping us reach our fundraising targets, with pupils, parents, families and teachers using their imagination, creativity and enthusiasm to help raise the money we need to keep our helicopters flying.
