TCS London Marathon 2025

12 weeks to go…

Hellooooo everyone,

Just a little training update - I had a bit of an off-week last week because I was ill so playing catch up on my runs a little bit. Tempo run today was a little off pace but I did it on the trails, and then long run sunday tomorrow! But slowly making progress.

We had our team day today at London’s Air Ambulance headquarters and visited the helipad. It’s truly outstanding the work that goes into not only providing the life-saving care, but coordinating the flights with air traffic control, working the London’s ambulance service, the paramedic screening 999 calls to choose which the helicopter attends, the night-time car service and more. If the service weren’t able to run, these patients would not make it to hospital to be treated. It’s remarkable the patient stories and lives that have been saved.

It’s been a huge kick for me not only for training but also for fundraising to keep the service running.

If you’d like to keep up with my training, you can follow me on strava here: https://strava.app.link/k7g9vndBDQb

I'm running a marathon to help save lives in London

I’ll be running my first marathon in April - the 2025 London Marathon - for London’s Air Ambulance. It’s a charity that myself and my family have fundraised for before, and one that many don’t know is a charity, relying totally on donations from people like yourself.

You may have seen the red helicopters over the London skyline on their way to deliver an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. The work they do brings hospital care to the streets of London, administering life-saving care when the journey to a hospital would have been too long.

This’ll be the double the length of the longest run I’ve done, and my first time running a race without someone next to me the whole way! Please consider donating - it’s a service that no one thinks they or their loved ones will need until they do, and it’s vitally important that the LAA is there to deliver life-saving care on the very worst day of someone’s life.
