Taking the Leap for London’s Air Ambulance
On 12 September, I’ll be stepping far outside my comfort zone and taking part in a charity abseil from a building with a helipad to raise money for the London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
My fundraising target is a minimum of £300, and I’m proud to say that I’ve already covered the registration fee myself, meaning every pound donated will go directly to supporting the incredible work they do saving lives across London.
Although I’ve thankfully never personally needed the services of London’s Air Ambulance, being part of the wider emergency services and blue light community has shown me first-hand just how vital they are. Through incidents and jobs I’ve attended over the years, I know the difference this team makes when seconds matter most. Their advanced trauma care and rapid response have helped save countless lives in situations where every moment counts.
This challenge also means something personal to me.
After suffering a fractured pelvis and facing my own physical challenges over the years, there was a time when doing something like this would have felt impossible. Alongside recovery, I’ve worked hard to improve my health and have lost just under 100kg in body weight. That journey has completely changed what I’m capable of, and I now look forward to taking on events like this for causes that genuinely matter.
So on 12 September, I’ll be taking that step over the edge not just as a fundraiser, but as someone grateful for the emergency services community and determined to give something back.
If you’re able to support me, no matter how small the donation, it would be hugely appreciated. Every contribution will help London’s Air Ambulance continue delivering lifesaving care to people when they need it most.
Thank you for your support.
I'm Abseiling to help save lives in London
London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
I will be abseiling from the home of London's Air Ambulance Charity on the 17th Floor of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.
