I'm Abseiling to help the Air Ambulance continue their vital work

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. A service that many people may not realise is only offered and supported through generous donations from the public making fundraising events such as this all the more important. 

Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

I will be abseiling from the home of London's Air Ambulance Charity on the 17th Floor of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. I will be doing this on September 16th but donations are still accepted after this date. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.

Information about London's Air Ambulance:

- Since 1989 their incredible staff have provided life-saving care to over 40,000 people.

- It costs around £11million each year to deliver their service 24/7, 365 days a year, with over £8million coming directly from fundraising.

- They are a charity that works alongside the NHS.

- They have provided crucial support at major incidents throughout the capital, including the Paddington rail crash, the Grenfell Tower fire and the Westminster Bridge attack. 

- Their helicopter flies during daylight hours, while the rapid response cars operate at night or in adverse weather conditions.

- The average mission cost is £2,048.

- They had to stop many of their usual fundraising activities due to the pandemic. This has lost the charity an estimated £ 5 million and the impact will be felt for some time to come. 

- Medical teams can perform blood transfusions and open chest surgery at the roadside.
