I'm running to help save lives in London
Between Christmas and New Year in 2024, I decided that I wasn’t happy with my weight or general health after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
I signed up with an online fitness coach and between January and May 2025, I lost just over 12kg in weight and completed the Couch to 5K podcast and was able to run 5 kilometres non-stop.
After completing the Couch to 5K in May, I booked a place in a 10K race at Hyde Park – Chase the Sun and completed my first 10K race on the 10th September 2025.
Running for London Air Ambulance in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2026 is my next goal, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting charity to run for than the London Air Ambulance and the essential work they do in saving lives and achieving better health outcomes for people, while also achieving better health outcomes for myself by training for this event.
Any support, from a donation through to sharing this page would be much appreciated, I will also post regular training updates between January 2026 and the race in April 2026.
London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
