London Marathon 2024 2 weeks to go!

Dear wonderful people. I’m running the marathon in 2 weeks time! Training hasn’t exactly gone to plan.., but I’m confident I’ll make it round, albeit not for the win… 

London’s Air Ambulance is hugely important organisation saving the lives of people suffering major injury in London. 

The service is a unique combination of Bart’s Health NHS Trust which provides the doctors, the London Ambulance Service which provides the paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance Charity (LAA) which funds everything else ranging from the helicopters and cars, to the awesome helipad staff, daily running costs, individual projects and much much more. 

I am very lucky to be a Consultant in Pre-hospital care working with this incredible organisation. Although I am employed by the NHS, I have benefited directly from the support of the charity allowing me to deliver research into novel procedures capable of potentially saving more lives in London and across the world. 

LAA is a charity and therefore this whole service is dependant on your donations. Please considering donating to my London marathon bid to help LAA keep delivering this World leading trauma care benefiting patients in London and across the world. I know many of you do not live in London and for those who do, I hope you never need the services of LAA! However, the work we have done and continue to do has influenced the way in which trauma care is delivered throughout the UK and internationally, so please bear this in mind.

I'm running to help save lives in London

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
