Hi everyone,
Welcome to my fundraiser!
This September, I’ll be abseiling from the helipad at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel to raise money for the incredible London Air Ambulance service based there. At 284 feet high, it’s one of the highest abseils in Europe — almost as tall as Big Ben!
I’ve chosen to take on this challenge because the Air Ambulance relies entirely on donations, yet it operates 24/7, providing lifesaving care to critically ill and seriously injured people of all ages across London within the M25.
The team brings the hospital directly to the patient, delivering expert emergency treatment at the scene and giving people the very best chance of survival. Countless lives and families have been saved because of them.
My family and I know this firsthand.
Last May, when I was just 17, both of my lungs suddenly collapsed at home. I went into cardiac arrest, and thanks to the incredible treatment I received from the Air Ambulance team — alongside the London Ambulance Service — my life was saved.
Emergency procedures were carried out on my living room floor, and my heart was restarted. I then received expert care during the journey to Whitechapel to keep me safe and protect my brain from permanent damage. The speed of the response was unbelievable — within minutes, the team had flown to my side. Their expertise, rapid intervention, and safe transfer meant I was able to make an excellent recovery.
Today, I’m back at sixth form studying for my A Levels, with plans to study engineering at university away from home. None of these future plans would have been possible without the people who saved my life that day.

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
