We are running to help save lives in London

In 2025 we will be running the TCS London Marathon on behalf of The Number 8 Foundation for The London Air Ambulance in memory of George Casey. 

The last time we saw George he’d gone to run a half marathon in Battersea Park, which for him would have been a light jog in the park, we all went to celebrate with him afterwards. We will always remember him running it in 1:45 and him being fuming with the time he had run. Maybe it was his Ultra Marathon pace he was running at. 

On Saturday 30th July 2023 George was tragically hit by a speeding motorist. Within minutes, the air ambulance arrived and worked their hardest on him before he was transferred to the critical care unit at Kings College London. The incredible team at the hospital did everything in their power to save George, however we said our final goodbyes to him on the 5th of August 2023.

The care and support provided by the doctors and nurses to all of George’s family and friends during that extremely difficult period will always be remembered and I will forever be indebted to them.

Any donations would be massively appreciated for a cause we have been inspired by the last 15 Months. The Foundation has incredibly already raised more than £150,000 which will provide invaluable resources to save lives in the future.

 London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
