Therre was an atricle on the two new choppers on the BBC London evening news last night. Good views of London and the helipad and interviews with the pilots and doctors.

‘Tis all done

Well I’ve done it. There is more evidence to come as the GoPro worked fine. Great experience and this helipad was operational. That chopper was saving a life at Westminster earlier this morning.

Great views very good team - minimal instruction before stepping off but that was probably just as well. The start is tricky as you need to get moving. I then got into the flow and came down quite swiftly. If not SAS standard.

Nearly there

Hi all

So thanks to some overwhelming support from you people you have nearly doubled my target amount - thanks very much.
Most messages other than 'rather you than me' are about pictures. So I've got a GoPro and  mount from my youngest son and I will do my best on Wednesday afternoon. I've been practicing and have the aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh - down to a fine art now.

Just recalled I'm not a great fan of heights.... Actually as a sometime light aircraft flier too  - I have a deep respect for helicopter fliers of any  persuasion - but  these people are something very special.  

I'm Abseiling to help save lives in London

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

I will be abseiling from the home of London's Air Ambulance Charity one the 17th Floor of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.
