London's Air Ambulance Helipad Abseil June 2023

I did it !

It was a very scary moment to get on the platform and wait to be tied to the knots.. well I didn’t realise it’d get even more scarier once I need to move my first foot off the platform..
but then once the second foot was off, calmness arrived.. l watched the city’s reflection on the hospital windows at first but in time was able to turn around and watch the view.
Before anyone asks, I was suggested not to make a Tom Cruise entrance from the windows, after all it is only a hospital I am told.. so I didn’t.
Once I landed I really wanted to do it again !!
Looking back, the hardest moment was after I uploaded my pics on FB, my aunt called me with a very upset voice, at a high tone, asking me “what have you been doing ?”..

so, why am I even doing this ?

Hello Everyone !

Few months ago, I was very impressed with London Air Ambulance attending a casualty, which thankfully saved a young kid’s life.. so, despite my huge fear of heights, I wanted to take this abseiling challenge, from the top of 17 story hospital building, to support their wonderful job..

Earlier this year in January, I went up on a helter skelter which I am told the height was 6 meters.. and I decided walking down as I couldn’t look down.  It won’t surprise you that the thought of standing on the roof of 17 story building scares me to death, but London Air Ambulance charity is saving lives, and running on donations.  Therefore I thought of taking this challenge as an excuse to remind you of their importance to our community, and also those who are visiting London.

My abseiling event is taking place on 8th September, and I’ll try my best to camera record the event for you (although likely I may “edit” the first minutes 😉).

I hope none of us will ever need to be taken by the air ambulance but remember of those that will need. Any support you can give to them is highly appreciated.

I'm Abseiling to help save lives in London

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

I will be abseiling from the home of London's Air Ambulance Charity one the 17th Floor of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.
