London to Brighton Cycle 2024

Training is UP!! and running well riding

In today's post we have climbed to new heights, Do you get the impression it was hilly so did we. We cycled a 25 mile loop and somehow climbed both ways powered by chocolate brownies. Heavy legs all round today but ditchling prep is the key right? 30 flattish miles next. Follow along for our 30 mile update.

How the story begun.

I have had a long held dream to complete the London to Brighton bike ride. As a child I was part of the support for a team from my father's work. Ever since then it's been "on the list"
I have cerebral palsy and can't balance a two wheeler! But I can definitely cycle. Fast forward a few (read many many) years and many different tricycles. I am the proud owners of a 70's racing trike. The ideal steed for such a challenge.
The final piece of the puzzle came when I met Rachel in 2023 who had been a flight paramedic with London's Air Ambulance charity.
Fast forward to June 24 and everything seems aligned, a suitable machine, an incredibly worthy cause and a willing girlfriend and riding partner to boot.   September 24 is when London to Brighton comes off the "one day list".

Follow along for the highs and lows of training and ride day.  More blogs to come. Oh and if you could spare a pound or two along the way that would just round off the adventure.
.thanks for reading this far!!

I'm cycling to help save lives in London

I will be taking part in the London to Brighton Cycle for London's Air Ambulance Charity. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
