Raising money for the London Air Ambulance Charity
I am running the TCS London Marathon 2025 raising money for London’s Air Ambulance Charity. I would not usually raise money running for charity given I run a lot. But this year is different.
My eldest son, Freddie, was in an accident last November. While cycling a lime bike, he was hit head on by an ambulance on an emergency call. The London Air Ambulance team raced to the scene, intubated him and put him in a coma. The surgeon who attended him is genuinely astonished by his recovery because at the time he did not think he would survive. He sustained level 3 brain injuries but the treatment given at the scene of the accident (and the care he received at St Mary’s major trauma unit) has permitted him to make a full recovery. Our family is incredibly grateful to the London Air Ambulance charity
The London Air Ambulance charity delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
