I'm running to help save lives in London
London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients.
I have chosen to support this charity on the basis that I found it surprising that the air ambulance was not funded by the NHS but was a charity. How is it that the team that comes to rescue in the most serious injuries or illnesses is a charity?
By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, they aim to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.
They serve the 10 million people that live work and travel within the M25, treating an average of five patients every day. The most common incidents they attend include road traffic collisions, stabbings and shootings, falls from height and incidents on the rail network.
Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most.
I will be taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2022 running with the London's Air Ambulance Charity Team. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.
