London's Air Ambulance Helipad Abseil 2026

Helicopter pilot, scared of heights, doing a charity abseil from the hospital roof hospital....make it make sense!

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of care possible.

I'm Anne-Marie, I'm one of the pilots and I have the best job in the world, I fly helicopters and help people. I'm also very scared of heights! I'm fine in a helicopter, they're meant to be in the air and I'm reasonably proficient at flying them. It's really a fear of falling off, say something high like the top of a building...so I thought I'd abseil off the 17th floor of a building.....ohhhhhhh....

So yes, I will be scared witless but I will be abseiling down from the home of London's Air Ambulance Charity on the 17th Floor of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.
