I'm Abseiling off the Helipad to help save lives in London

Thanks for viewing my page.  I am hugely grateful for any donation  - in these tough times even the smallest generosity is able to make a real difference.  

(This event was originally due to be on Sunday 11th September 2022, however following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, it was postponed).

So..... on Sunday 11th June 2023 I am Abseiling 284ft off the highest Helipad in Europe  - the home of London’s Air Ambulance, based on top of the 17th Floor of The Royal London Hospital!  

I am doing this to raise vital funds for this life saving service who are a charity reliant on donations.  They deliver an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients  - roughly 5 Adults or Children anywhere within the M25, every day. 

Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the 7 rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival  - and best quality of life, after trauma.  Not only are they able to transport patients quickly by air, but they also bring advanced pre-hospital lifesaving care directly to the patient in the field.  For example, they can undertake open chest surgery and blood transfusions and they performed the worlds first REBOA procedure at the road side.

They deal with almost any trauma, not just RTA's, are airborne in 4 minutes and able to be anywhere within the M25 in 11 minutes.  During night hours they operate from rapid response cars.

I'm proud to work for Barts Health NHS Trust, who host London's Air Ambulance, therefore seeing first hand what an invaluable 24/7 - 365day service this is for London.  The very specialist medical equipment, medical teams and operating overheads; training, helipad fire crew's, car maintenance, etc., mean this service needs huge support.  The service costs ~£11m per year to run, with each mission costing an average of £2048.  They now urgently need to replace their 2 HEMS Helicopters.

Last year I suffered a significant neck and shoulder injury and that will therefore make this even more challenging, but with your support I promise to succeed!  Please give what you can to help save lives in London, and in return I promise to not 'bottle it' as I climb over the edge!  Thank you.
