I'm running for you Matt!

In April 2027, I will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my best friend, Matthew.

Matthew tragically lost his life in a horrific motorbike accident in January 2022. He was one of the kindest, purest souls you could ever meet, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared so many amazing memories with him and to have called him my best friend. Not a day goes by that he isn’t missed.

On the day of the accident, London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene and did everything they possibly could. I will always be grateful for the dedication, professionalism and compassion shown by the team who work tirelessly to help people in their most critical moments.

London’s Air Ambulance Charity delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation helps keep the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ensuring they can continue providing life-saving care when it is needed most.

I won’t lie – I’m not a runner! In fact, I couldn’t tell you the last time I actually went for a run. Taking on 13.1 miles is going to be one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced, both physically and mentally. There will undoubtedly be moments when I want to stop, but the reason behind why I’m doing this will keep me going every step of the way.

I’m running to honour Matthew’s memory, to raise money for an incredible charity, and to push myself far beyond my comfort zone. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference and would mean so much to me.
