TCS London Marathon 2026

What a Day!

I made it! Slower than I hoped for but i hadn’t factored in stopping at every band and dj to dance and chat!

The crowds are simply extraordinary and make all the difference! I made an inauspicious start by managing to be the last person off Blackheath next to a rhino!

On the plus side this meant I mainly overtook people which spurred me on. Highlights included the double decker bus playing Cher and dancing with the crowd. Seeing friends and family along the way was so special thank you all!

Finally what a privilege to have been given a spot by London Air Ambulance and you have all made it worthwhile by donating a staggering amount of money.

Thank you!

Wembley all the way home

Beautiful bank holiday Monday for a 21km walk from Wembley Stadium via Grand Union Canal, Hyde Park and the Serpentine and then through Battersea Park.

Pace is good and feeling ready for the 26th. Thank you again for all your donations

East to South

21km covered today and I saw so much of London. Starting in Walthamstow skirted near Leyton Orient (where I spend a lot of time), then through Lea Valley where I haven't been to since the Olympics. Down through Hackney and the painfully cool Broadway Market.

Heading through the City I went past St Paul's Cathedral where they were filming Luther. An unbelievable operation! Then along the misty Thames home.

London really delivered and inspired me to keep up a good pace. Everything on track for April. Thank you for all your support!

Parks of London in the Sun

A beautiful day for another training session. I took the tube out to Richmond and then came back through Richmond Park & Wimbledon Common. Below is the stunning Richmond Park ruined by my poor photography and pained face.
Fundraising is going well, thank you all who have donated so far to London Air Ambulance. Still lots of time to donate before the London Marathon in April!

London Winter Walk Marathon, Oval

This was my 3rd time doing this marathon. It is so well organised really interesting route and perfect timing to see where I am with my training for April. The answer is it couldn't have gone much better. I was hoping to set a time under 6 hours 30 and I came in at 6 hours 11. I flagged a bit in the final quarter so more work to do and 6 hours is definitely possible.

Now time for a bath and probably a beer.

Thank you again for all your incredibly generous donations, I am so close to my target!

New Shoes work their magic!

Thank you for all your donations! I am incredibly grateful.

It was a frosty one today! Headed off around 8.30am and it was -2! The fact I was wearing a T-shirt (as well as hat & gloves) meant people got out of my way and stayed well clear. A couple of people did shout 'Are you mad? You must be freezing!'

The cold certainly spurred me on, and the new shoes it turned out, were amazing. I covered 32km and was 30 minutes quicker all down to the footwear as I certainly am not any fitter than last time I did this walk!

The measure of how cold I got is that I am typing this whilst wearing a jumper (those of you who know me well know that I only ever wear a jumper when I am ill!), wrapped in a blanket and with a hot water bottle!

I have one corker of a blister and my legs are a little stiff but an excellent start to the 2026 campaign. Next big one will be the London Winter Walk at the end of January to help with the limbering up

Getting Started

New shoes are broken in, training events are booked now it is all about raising money for this amazing cause. On a personal note I am still slightly in shock that I have a place in this historic event. I am so happy London Air Ambulance chose to give one of their highly sought after places to me, now it is all about the money!

I'm running to help save lives in London

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma.

I will be taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2025 running with the London's Air Ambulance Charity Team. Please give what you can to help save lives in London.
