Our Santa Dash for London Air Ambulance

On 4th December, my mum and I will be running 4.5km dressed as Santas to raise money for London Air Ambulance, a charity that saves lives every single day. 

We’re aiming to raise £200 by December, and every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference.

In March 2024, my Uncle had a catastrophic accident at work, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. His local Air Ambulance rushed him to hospital for emergency surgery, which ultimately saved his life. We’ll always be incredibly grateful for the fast response and expertise of these incredible teams.

Through my physiotherapy placements at Aintree Hospital, one of the North West’s Major Trauma Centres, I’ve seen firsthand the life-saving impact of air ambulances. I often watched them land and take off from the helipad, bringing critically injured patients straight into Resus. During my time in a neurological intensive care unit, I cared for patients who had been airlifted in where their survival often depended on that rapid intervention.

This cause feels especially personal to us. It’s been a tough year for our family, my dad has faced a few major health scares and it’s made us realise how precious it is to do things together while we’re in good health. 

So, we’re running this Santa Dash not only to give back, but to celebrate life, family, and the amazing work of the Air Ambulance crews who make miracles happen every day.
