I'm cycling 55miles from London to Brighton to help save lives in London

Thank you for viewing my page.  As you can see I’m doing the London to Brighton bike ride on Sunday 14th September in aid of London’s Air Ambulance. 

I’m riding the 55miles with my Mum so hopefully she’ll be able to keep up with me!!  In all seriousness we are riding together and really looking forward to the challenge. 

My ambition is to be in the sky one day and after having done work experience with my Dad who’s office is based at the Royal London Hospital and seen and heard first hand how many times the Air Ambulance takes off on a mission it inspired me to join my Mum and help out. 

During my work experience I got to see the behinds the scenes work that goes into the research and development of medical equipment and the cutbacks in funding the NHS face, however the air ambulance is not funded and they rely on the charity in order to provide the amazing service they do. 

On average each mission costs £2,208 and the money raised will go towards funding a potentially life-saving mission. 

The air ambulance is a 24/7 - 365day service. The very specialist medical equipment, medical teams and operating overheads; training, helipad fire crew's, car maintenance, etc., mean this service needs huge support.  

Many Londoners think the main purpose of London's Air Ambulance is to collect patients from the scene of an incident and fly them back to hospital.

But actually, it is to deliver the advanced trauma team to a patient's side as quickly and as safely as possible. The crew bring the specialised care patients would get in the emergency department, at the scene of incident.

I am very grateful for any donation  - even the smallest help is able to make a real difference. 

We are usually gym buddies but so we’re used to pushing each other on although we’ve never ridden 55miles or tackled Ditchling Beacon but we are looking forward to the challenge together. So wish us luck!
