The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's Christmas Carol Service in aid of London’s Air Ambulance Charity
This Christmas, join us at St Mary Abbots Church in Kensington for an uplifting evening filled with hope, community spirit and festive cheer. The service will include a special reading from guest speaker Jeremy Irons, followed by a festive reception of mulled wine and mince pies. Together, we will celebrate the season and support the vital work of London’s Air Ambulance Charity, who bring hope to every emergency in London.

Mayor Councillor Tom Bennett was elected to serve Kensington and Chelsea in 2025/26, having represented Redcliffe Ward since 2018. He’s led on priorities including safer streets, housing and environmental initiatives, and is co-founder of an environmental technology business. This year, he’s proud to champion London’s Air Ambulance Charity as his Mayoral charity, supporting its life-saving work across the borough.

Jeremy Irons’s theatre work includes acclaimed roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, earning a Tony Award for The Real Thing. His film career features an Academy Award for Reversal of Fortune and memorable roles in The Lion King (voice of Scar), Brideshead Revisited, Dead Ringers, House of Gucci and Lolita. On television, he is known for Elizabeth I and The Borgias. Renowned for his distinctive voice, he brings warmth and depth to storytelling across his work.

Doors will open at 18:00. Please use the main front entrance on St Mary Abbots Church or the step-free entrance on the north side.
All guests must be seated by 18:20 for a 18:30 start. We expect the carol service to finish around 19:30.
Seating on the evening will operate on a first-come first-served basis, with volunteers and St Mary Abbots Church staff there to direct on the night. Latecomers may be seated towards the back.
You will receive your e-tickets directly from our ticketing platform following your purchase. Please check your junk mail folders. All tickets will be resent one week before the event.

Tickets provide access to the carol service only. For visits to the wider church, please see the St Mary Abbots Church website.
Unfortunately as a charity we’re unable to issue any refunds if the event is cancelled. Funds raised through ticket sales will directly support our vital services.
St Mary Abbots Church is fully wheelchair accessible. An individual attending with a guest who requires assistance will receive a free ticket to ensure they can participate comfortably. Please notify us by emailing community@londonsairambulance.org.uk so we can ensure a suitable space is available. Without prior notice, priority seating cannot be guaranteed on the night.
There is a high-quality sound system with a hearing loop for guests with hearing impairments. For visually impaired guests, A4 service sheets with larger text to aid reading can be provided.
You may be subject to security screening so it’s advised you don’t bring the following items:
- Glass bottles or containers
- Food or drink
- Knives or sharp objects
- Items that may damage the venue or harm others
- Illegal items or protest-related materials
- Drones
Yes, fully accessible toilets are available during the event.
No photography or videography is allowed inside the church or during the service.
