London Marathon 2021

Marathon Deferred to 2022

Due to an unexpected knee injury I picked up at the start of summer I have been unfortunately advised to defer my London Marathon place to 2022. Thank you very much for the donations I have received so far and I will continue to fundraise until late October next year. This will allow me time to ease back into training and allow time for some needed rehabilitation. I will still use this page to keep you updated with my progress and fundraising.

Thanks for your understanding.

See you in 2022

Fin.

I'm fundraising for London Air Ambulance

Hi, hope you are well! Thanks for viewing my page! After growing up in Cornwall and working as an RNLI Lifeguard I have grown a strong interest into the world of pre-hospital care. In this role, additionally whilst studying at St George’s University of London I have witnessed first hand the crucial role the Air Ambulance plays in saving lives across the country. This year I'm running the London Marathon to raise funds for the London Air Ambulance Charity. The Air Ambulance brings the hospital to the scene, delivering urgent, cutting-edge medical care when every second counts. During the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been increasing pressure upon the service, it is estimated the charity will lose £5 million in income over the next two to three years due to the pandemic, the equivalent of 2,440 missions.  It costs around £11 million each year to deliver their life saving critical care and is primarily dependent upon your charitable donation, they now need your help more than ever. I am attempting to raise money for one life saving mission. You may never need their help but many others will. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’ll buy you a beer!

Thanks a lot.

Fin X (I will post regular updates throughout my journey below)

"London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Your donation will help save more lives by keeping the helicopter in the air and the rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, London’s Air Ambulance Charity aims to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma."
